It saddens me that the former friendly nations of the U.S. and Turkey have come to odds I have great memories of my visit to Istanbul and other sites along the Turkish Mediterranean coast.  It is only ignorance that keeps us apart. Much of this stems from disagreements in Syria.

And, sadly, today, the U.S. government withdrew from UNESCO, the United Nations organization that has protected so many of these culturally significant sites.

To commemorate my great respect for the Turkish people and to emphasize my hope that we can, once again, establish a diplomatic relationship, I post my travel log from my trip in 2010 to the Eastern Mediterranean. Many of my photos are from Istanbul and other sites along the Turkish coast.

I guess only golf courses are what matter now.
